April 25, 2017 – Faith & Society: Lessons from Northern Ireland
with the Rev. Dr. Gary Mason
Season 10, Episode 17
Is America in danger of becoming like Northern Ireland during the height of its conflict? On this episode of Friends Talking Faith with The Three Wise Guys we’ll discuss faith, conflict, and what lessons we can learn from Northern Ireland in their struggle to bring about peace. There is no doubt we are living in tumultuous times; in a deeply divided nation. Is there any hope for America to find peaceful resolution to our deep and divisive conflicts? Today we’ll talk with an expert who grew up in Belfast during “the troubles.” During that time he was working for peace and reconciliation. Now, leading his newly founded organization he teaches both in Belfast and around the world in the areas of social justice, conflict transformation, peace building, and what the role of religion is in conflict. Our conversation with Irish pastor, theologian, and reconciliation leader – the Rev. Dr. Gary Mason (pictured here)– listen now to this installment of Friends Talking Faith.
