What is it like to literally receive a gift that means your life will continue? On this episode of Friends Talking Faith with The Three Wise Guys we’ll discuss faith and organ transplantation and donation. Each year in the United States there are around 30,000 organ transplants performed. However, there are nearly 125,000 individuals on the list who need an organ transplant. Every 10 minutes in this country another name is added to the national organ transplant list. And although there have been advances in medical technology and donation, the demand for organ, eye and tissue donation still vastly exceeds the number of donors. And while 90% of Americans say they support donation, only about 30% know the essential steps to take to become a donor. We’ll talk with a gentleman today (Mr. Michael Yaros of Orlando) who has been the beneficiary of an organ transplant.
