August 4, 2015 – Faith & Society: Early Childhood Development and Poverty
Season 8, Episode 5 — “Children in America” Series (1 of 5)
A staggering 22% of them live in poverty in the U.S. On this episode of Friends Talking Faith with The Three Wise Guys we begin a five program series on Children in America. On this show we discuss faith, children, poverty, and early childhood development. Children… We hear it all the time: “they are our greatest asset!” “They are the future!” And some would say, “children aren’t our future, they are our right now!” In one of the wealthiest countries in the world, with nearly one quarter of our children impoverished, we’ll be joined by an early childhood development expert doing research at Harvard regarding children living in poverty and the challenges and opportunities of effectively intervening in the lives of these children. We’ll discuss all of it from our differing faith perspective. The research of Harvard Doctoral candidate, Monica Yudron (pictured above) and the Harvard Center on the Developing Child, on this installment of Friends Talking Faith.
