S8:E22 Displaced (12/1/15)

December 1, 2015 – Faith & Society: Persecution and Immigration

Season 8, Episode 22

Displaced2The eyes of the world have been transfixed on those who have had to flee their homes in Syria, so today on this episode of Friends Talking Faith with The Three Wise Guys we’ll discuss faith, persecution, displacement and immigration. Since 2011 the United Nations estimates that some 9 million people have had to flee from their homes in Syria. The migration routes for these refugee immigrants varies, but one of the ways that people are fleeing is across the Mediterranean. The Migrant Offshore Aid Station (MOAS) is an humanitarian, non-profit project aimed at assisting vessels in distress in the central Mediterranean. Since 2014, Brigadier Martin Xuereb (pictured here) has been Director of that operation. We’ll talk with him about the work he’s doing, and why he’s doing it. Of course, we’ll discuss all of it from a faith perspective. Our conversation with Martin Xuereb about the work of the Migrant Offshore Aid Station (click MOAS below to learn more), and so much more on this installment of Friends Talking Faith.
