It is so-called the “Pastor Protection Act” On this episode of Friends Talking Faith with The Three Wise Guys we’ll discuss the faith, government, and current Florida legislation. On August 11 of this year Rep. Scott Plakon filed House Bill 43 for the 2016 Regular Session. The bill — which states that religious institutions and clergy are not required to solemnize marriages or provide services if it goes against sincerely held religious beliefs — was passed by the Civil Justice Subcommittee in early October and is headed for the House Judiciary Committee soon. We’ll talk with Rep. Scott Plakon (pictured right), one of the bill’s cosponsors about why he feels this bill is necessary. You’ll find that we won’t all agree on this topic. Rep.
