S8:E18 Adoption (11/3/15)

November 3, 2015 – Faith & Society: Adoption and Foster Care

Season 8, Episode 18

Adoption1Within the last five years over 12,000 children in the state of Florida have moved from foster care to adoption, but this year the number of children in foster care is spiking. On this episode of  Friends Talking Faith with The Three Wise Guys we discuss faith, foster care, and adoption. The Florida Association of Heart Galleries exhibit was unveiled by Gov. Rick Scott in June 2015 – it featured photos of children who would like to move from foster care to permanent adoptive families. Now, once again this November which is National Adoption Month – just as in the past several years – the state of Florida launches the 30 Days of Amazing Children: Explore Adoption Initiative aimed to encourage people to consider giving children in foster care a forever family through adoption. We’ll look at the issue of foster care and adoption from our various faith perspectives. Also, we’ll be joined by a member of the governor’s staff as well as the Community Relations Manager from Community Based Care of Central Florida and a member of the Dept. of Children and Families team. Foster care, adoption, and the importance of a loving and supportive family. All that and more on this installment of Friends Talking Faith.
