September 29, 2015 – Faith & Society: Freedom and Community
Season 8, Episode 13
In the late 1940’s it started out as “I Am an American Day.” On this installment of Friends Talking Faith with The Three Wise Guys, we’ll discuss faith, freedom, and community in light of our recent celebration of the United States Constitution.
Constitution Day – also known as “Citizenship Day” – is celebrated on the weekday closest to September 17. Sometimes, very little attention is paid to this important national day of commemoration. So today, and for the next couple of weeks we’re going to focus particularly on issues related to freedom and faith. We’ll have some special guests who will help us understand more clearly some of the issues related to living in a free society. What are the rights and responsibilities of those who live in an open society? And how does our Constitution help shape the national conversation around these freedoms in relation to issues like free speech, freedom of religion, and the separation of church and state? Faith, freedom, and community – that’s on this installment of Friends Talking Faith.
