January 6, 2015 – Faith & Society: The End of the World-Religion and Science
Season 7, Episode 1
On this installment of Friends Talking Faith with The Three Wise Guys we’ll discuss faith and the end of the world. In some religious traditions it’s called the “end of days,” in some the “Parousia,” others refer to it as “the apocalypse,” and some just call it the “end of the world!” For centuries self-proclaimed seers and prophets have predicted it’s coming, and so far all of those dates have come and gone. So, what do our three religious traditions have to say about the end of the world? Are there predictions to which we should pay attention? And what does science have to say in regard to this question of the end of planet earth? Our very special guest for this program is past President of Rollins College and current Provost of the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, R.I., Dr. Lewis M. Duncan, physicist. As another year has come to an end, we’ll ask, “but what about the world?” That conversation is on this episode of Friends Talking Faith.
