The bumper sticker reads: “God said it, I believe it, that settles it for me!” On this episode of Friends Talking Faith with The Three Wise Guys we discuss faith and Scriptures. We’ve all been in that conversation, often around some sort of disagreement, when suddenly someone says, “well, the Bible says…” It’s an appeal to an authoritative source, and the intention is usually to stop debate, or at the very least to win the argument. On this program we talk about Scriptures, their function and meaning in our faith traditions, and questions about interpretation and misinterpretation – you guessed it, we’ll also do some “twisted texts.”
