February 11, 2014 – Faith & Culture: LOVE
Season 4, Episode 6
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner we’ll discuss faith and LOVE. Last year Americans spent a record amount on Valentine’s Day – almost 19 billion dollars — only about 60% of adults say they celebrate Valentine’s Day (for 20% they celebrate it with their pets). Valentine’s Day is second only to Christmas in the United States in retail revenues. But, it’s not about money, it’s about LOVE, right? LOVE is the theme of Valentine’s Day… so for this program, it’s our theme. What do our faith traditions say about this big idea of LOVE? Also, many people really like Valentine’s Day, but there are many others who really don’t. Can faith help us step back and take a “bigger picture” approach to Valentine’s Day?
