December 19, 2017 – Faith & Religion: Clergy in Congregation and Community
with Dr. Robert Redman
Season 10, Episode 51
This episode of Friends Talking Faith with The Three Wise Guys was recorded in front of a studio audience at South University College of Theology in Orlando, Florida. On this episode we’ll be talking with students, professors, and folks from the community about faith and the role of clergy in congregation and society. Often in television shows and films clergy are portrayed as bumbling oafs, ridiculous and ineffectual. And when we hear about clergy on the news often we hear stories that make us cringe because of either bad behavior or because of the offensive ideas that they seem to be perpetrating. But for many of us, our experience with religious leaders is more generally positive and helpful. Our guest today – from his unique vantage point and expertise – will help us consider both the training of clergy today and the role of clergy in both congregation and community. Our conversation with the Dean of South University College of Theology, Dr. Robert Redman about clergy in congregation and community – that’s coming up on this installment of Friends Talking Faith.
