Faith & Society:
Faith and Abortion

with the Rev. Dr. Rebecca Todd Peters

Nearly 60% of Americans feel abortion should be legal, but 48% of those polled believe abortion is morally wrong. On this Friends Talking Faith with The Three Wise Guys we’ll discuss faith and the issue of abortion. For a woman who decides to have an abortion in our culture there is often a fair amount of cultural shaming, the feeling of a need for secrecy about the decision, and women who choose to have an abortion are often accused of being murderers, there is a bias implicit in the entire framework of the conversation around abortion in our country. Our guest today is a Christian clergy person, a professor of religious studies, and an ethicist – she makes the case for trusting women, and she does it from a faith perspective. We will listen to her thoughts and we will learn from her. Our conversation with the Rev. Dr. Rebecca Todd Peters about her new book entitled “Trust Women: A Progressive Christian Argument for Reproductive Justice” – that’s coming up on this episode of Friends Talking Faith.
