Faith & Community: Love is Still Winning
Christopher Cuevas
[PULSE Series – 2]

Season 11, Episode 50

It’s been two-and-a-half years since the massacre at the PULSE nightclub in Orlando, Florida – what’s happening with the LGBTQ+, Latinx community? On this Friends Talking Faith with The Three Wise Guys we’ll discuss faith, the PULSE affected community, QLatinx, and where we are today. On June 12 of this year we marked two years since the 49 murders and the many injuries at the PULSE nightclub in the 2016 attack. The Orlando Weekly reported that in the two intervening years there had been 701 mass shootings nationally since PULSE – and 51 mass shootings in Florida alone since that horrible day. The sheer volume of these murderous acts can sometimes make us numb to the reality that our own community has many people who continue to suffer. And in the midst of that there are those who have committed themselves to truly making a difference. Today marks the second in our series committed to lifting up the PULSE affected community, and to talk with those who are making a real difference in our community. Today we’ll speak to one of those leaders. Our conversation with Christopher Cuevas, the founder and Executive Director of QLatinx in Orlando – that’s coming up in just a moment on Friends Talking Faith
