April 17, 2018 – Faith & Religion: Who Killed Christianity in America?
with the Rev. Dr. Miguel De La Torre
Season 11, Episode 16
“Christianity has died in the hands of Evangelicals.” …talking about the U.S., that’s what one Evangelical theologian has to say. On this episode of Friends Talking Faith with The Three Wise Guys we’ll discuss faith, and the belief by some Evangelicals that American Christianity is in serious trouble because of a number of other Evangelicals. His article in Baptist news reports the death of Christianity in the United States because of what he calls a “Faustian bargain for the sake of political influence by a large number of United States evangelical leaders.” He has also just completed a book on the same topic. We will talk to this Southern Baptist minister and seminary professor about what he means. We’ll ask what can be done. We will also weigh-in from our own various faith traditions. Our conversation with the Rev. Dr. Miguel de la Torre about the death of Christianity in the U.S. at the hands of some Evangelicals – that’s coming up on this installment of Friends Talking Faith.
