November 14, 2017 – Faith & Community: Governmental and Congregational Responses to Disaster
with Congressman Darren Soto & Elder Douglas Carter
Season 10, Episode 46
When disaster strikes, who is responsible to help? On this installment of Friends Talking Faith with The Three Wise Guys we’ll discuss faith, the governmental response, the faith response, and the local community response. Over the past two weeks we’ve talked about response to disasters. We have focused on general information regarding both “what to do” and “what NOT to do” following a disaster. Also, we have talked with a pastor from Puerto Rico about the aftermath of the two hurricanes that hit the island in the past few weeks. Today we’ll talk with a United States Congressman – who is both a Floridian and of Puerto Rican dissent – to find out from him how he thinks the United States government is doing in our response to Puerto Rico. We will also focus on one faith community’s response to their neighbors in Florida following hurricane Irma. Our conversation with Congressman Darren Soto and withElder Douglas Carter regarding governmental and Congregational response to disaster. That’s coming up on this episode of Friends Talking Faith.
