January 17, 2017 – Faith & Culture: What Would the Rev. Dr. King Say Now?
– with Judge Wendell Griffen
Season 10, Episode 3
The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. walks up to President-elect Donald J. Trump and says… Well, what would he say? — On this episode of Friends Talking Faith with The Three Wise Guys we discuss faith, the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., and the soon to be inaugurated 45th president of the United States. Yesterday we celebrated the 31st observance of the national holiday in the United States commemorating the birthday of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and honoring his life and legacy in behalf of civil rights. President Ronald Reagan signed the holiday into law in 1983 and its observance began in 1986. In the year 2000 all 50 states observed Martin Luther King Jr. Day. In three days the United States of America will inaugurate its 45th president, Mr. Donald John Trump. It is safe to say he has been one of the most polarizing and controversial figures ever to run for and win the US presidency. Today we’ll talk with a man who brings a unique perspective through both his understanding of Dr. King and his observations about the incoming President-elect. Our conversation with the Honorable Wendell Griffen (pictured here), an African-American judge, pastor, teacher, and writer – you won’t want to miss this installment of Friends Talking Faith.
